Where I will talk about my Amiga computers.

I have five Amiga computers, 2 worked the last time I used them.

On this site I will have photos, comments, etc. about my Amiga computers. These machines were made by CBM.

I hope to find repair info so I can get my A500s working again.

I’ll add site navigation menus in a week or so.

Final Writer, a word processor, slow printing.

The Amiga version of Lotus 1-2-3, had more rows than the MS-DOS version.

Directory Opus, a file manager utility that copied and viewed files.

Any a few others.

I bought 3 of these models over the years. One was used.

I expanded one by adding a daughter board giving it 1.5 megs of video ram. I don’t exactly remember the total ram, but I think it was 3 megs. The other two had the more standard 0.5 megs video ram, and 1 megabyte of fast memory.

The A500 didn’t come with a hard drive. Every boot was from a 880 kilobyte floppy disk, 3.5 inch. I wound up buying lots of blank disks from a company that sold them in bulk. I made boot disks for different uses.

I used this one much more extensively than the rest of my Amiga computers.

I remember people laughing at having to use two separate types of memory… I also remember when video cards, using their own memory, came out for Windows computers.

I bought it used, and it came with two SCSI hard drives. One was 52 megabytes, and the other was 105 megabytes. Those were huge hard drives back then. The cases are about 3 inches wide.

I bought some commercail software for this one. A Final Copy word processor, an authorized version for the Amiga computer of Lotus 1-2-3, and Direcory Opus file utility.
